While France has very strict legislation on their possession, there are however more than 15 million firearms in the country, or nearly one weapon for four inhabitants. 

Where can you hear gunshots? 

During an attack or a settling of scores, you may therefore find yourself confronted with gunfire from which you must protect yourself, even if you are inside a building and the shooting takes place in the street.

If you hear a noise that reminds you of gunfire, do not look outside, stay away from windows for shelter and remember to protect your head.

It is very important not to panic and to remain calm when such a situation arises, it is the key to minimize the risk of injury.

Staying calm will also allow you to be able to alert the emergency services and transmit the information to them clearly.

If I hear gunshots, how should I react?  

Lie on the ground to protect your vital organs.

Crawl away from windows and openings to hide behind a thick wall and find an exit.

Do not take the elevator or trigger the alarm.

Contact the emergency services by phone to 112 or by SMS to 114.
