Evacuate: what is the emergency assembly point?

In France there are more than 300,000 fires per year, or more than 800 per day. Having to evacuate a building because of a fire is therefore an event that can most likely occur in your professional life.

What is the gathering point?

This is why the evacuation of a building follows strict rules and instructions which must be applied in order to avoid tragedies. Some employees have a well-defined role and must ensure that the evacuation takes place correctly.

The purpose of an evacuation is to bring all the employees together safely at the assembly point to carry out a census and wait for help.

And contrary to what one might think at first glance, it is not the flames that kill the most in fires, but the toxic fumes given off by the combustion of office materials.

What to do when you are at the gathering point ?

Once the building has been evacuated, stop traffic to allow all people to cross safely.

Bring all the people together at the same meeting point, group them together in order to carry out the census.

Stay at the assembly point and contact the emergency services by dialing 112.

Give all the information to the emergency services, do not hang up without authorization, then greet the firefighters on their arrival.
