Coronavirus - what are the symptoms?

What is Covid-19?

Covid-19 is a highly contagious disease affecting the respiratory tract and can lead to death. It is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus which appeared at the end of 2019 in China. The coronavirus is therefore a virus, not a microbe.

While the majority of Covid-19 kills older people who already have health problems, known as comorbidity, the disease can also kill young and fit people.

In spring 2020 the contagion is global because the circulation of the virus has been accelerated by the displacements and the gatherings of populations.

In the spring of 2020, no one yet knows how the virus will evolve in the coming months or if a vaccine can be found, the most effective method to curb its spread is containment.
